Modifying Habits and Perception

The following are examples of common misperceptions. (see index above)

I do not want to get big or strong, I just want to feel healthy. WRONG
I like to lift weights only to get strong. WRONG
I do not need to exercise because I do that in my daily activity at work and at home. WRONG
The heavier you work out the stronger you get WRONG
I do not like to get muscular like men. WRONG

WHOLE: Do not think of exercise as a way to strengthen a group of muscles. Think of exercise as a nurturing process of our entire bodily harmony.

If you believe that exercise will keep your heart healthy and your blood vessels free from cholesterol plaques, what good are these if others organs are being neglected?

For example, you can have perfectly healthy heart that might keep beating for another hundred year, however, bad knees can spoil your whole well being. A global approach to health is not only a wise choice it is the only choice to make exercise do any good. No matter what approach you choose to enhance your health, the basic fundamentals are: feeding, exercise, and rest. Simple, cheap, and efficacious, but are always overlooked. The best approach for planning your own health strategy is skepticism of any habit that violates these instinctual rules.

ORGANISM: In our study of biology, we describe a biological organism in its simplest form by three constituents: cells, matrix, and connective tissue. The cells are the privileged constituents that master life. Without cells there is no organism to speak of. Cells run the show of life of the organism. The matrix is the medium where the cells have to inhabit to express its functions. Cells take and give products to the medium. The medium might be liquid, solid, or gas. The medium is the highway that the cells use to communicate with the world. The connective tissue is the constituent of the medium that specialized in transferring very specific information between the cells and the medium. Nerves are connective tissue that transmits electric messages. Muscles are connective tissue that transmits dynamical messages. Bones are connective tissue that transmits static forces. Blood is a connective tissue that transmits chemical signals, and so on.

An insight into the psyche: Our perception that our bodies are created too resilient to ail has its good and bad sides.  Its good side is that it gives us a cause to live for.  Since God must has put that resilience in us to enable us live.  Its downfall is that it overlooks the reality of things.  God also has armed us with knowledge to maintain his creation and beatify our life with health.  1) Outstanding performance is judged by the ratio of maximum lifting to the bodyweight of the lifter, provided that lifting starts from the floor level and ends above the head, without any aiding tools.

2) Separate training of individual muscles is counterproductive and should be left to remedy individual deficiencies that shows in performing a full range free style lifting. Bodybuilding exercises should never be considered fundamental training plan because they lack balance of the extensor chain of muscles that are crucial to the lifting process.

Reducing the waist size is the MOST IMPORTANT sign of progess in Health and Fitness!  Why?
