Lower Back Issues The lower back is the most insecure part of the human body. Because: 1- Reasonable exercise of the lower back guarantees strong muscular support. Without exercise the muscles atrophy ( weaken and waste away). How many people you personally know who DO NOT suffer from back problems, one way or another ? 2- The back is out of sight and out of mind of many if not all people. Look at this advanced bodybuilder. His vertebral column is badly arched because he has neglected postural training and focused on bulking the soft tissues. Muscles could easily become massive but bones have to be meticulously considered in the equation of fitness and health.
After few years of bodybuilding the upper body works against the dynamics of movement and the athlete succumbs to a life full of worries and fears about injuries to the knees and lower back. 3- The lower back is the most complex part of our skeleton. Too much rest is no good. Belts and support gadgets are temporary. The best remedy and the simplest policy to the lower back well being is movement. Constant movement!! Running is cheap, simple, and very effective in keeping the lower back moving. Lower back injuries do not fare well with bed rest. As soon as the acute pain is over, you should keep moving. | |||||
